The Oaks Counselling Service is a charitable organisation that provides a professional counselling service that is accessible to all. We have a dedicated team of qualified Christian counsellors and are affiliated to the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC).
We currently have a vacancy for a Service Manager who will be responsible for managing and supporting the delivery of the counselling service to the areas around Bournemouth, Poole and surrounding areas. The role is a dynamic mix of a range of administrative tasks including the overseeing of the team, responsible for finance and appointments as well as acting independently in procuring new avenues of work within the conurbation and promoting the work of the Oaks Service amongst the local community. In addition, you will be required to coordinate a team of 8 counsellors, work with the Counselling Manager and Trustees on strategy, policy development and the quality of service delivery to meet ethical and professional standards.
The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to work independently with initiative, yet also as part of a team with the ability to be resourceful and collaborative: An essential element to the role will be in developing the service forward. There will be an overarching perspective of service delivery, marketing, the use of the internet/social media and knowledge of the fundamental workings of a charitable trust.
The role will require flexibility in time commitment with an average of 25 hours per month including regular evening team meetings. This position attracts a salary of £26 – £28,000 pro rata, depending on experience.

It is essential to have their own transport. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS disclosure and successfully obtaining two references. (One from current Church Leader and one from Employer/Voluntary work manager)
